It’s happening, it’s happening!!! I can’t believe is actually happening! All those years of study and work are finally paying off. I’ve been accepted as a soil enrichment technician and I will be heading to work in the agricultural pods in two weeks. Finally!
And no, I’m not just a “gardener”. I am much more than that. You could say the survival of the human race sits on my shoulders. And the shoulders of thousands of other technicians and operators like me. We are the force that keeps the population fed and alive. Despite how much they complain about it. They should be grateful that we are here to do this very important job.
It’s time to pack and say my goodbyes. It won’t be easy, I will be away from home for half of the year. But sacrifices must be made for the sake of our food supply. And I’m really not looking forward to all those concerned messages of caution. I’ve been trained to manage and deal with everything this job will throw at me. I’m ready.
The best part of it, I will get to work with the new pod drones and agricultural A.I. systems. It took us a long time to get back to these levels of automation. But we are at long last getting over unfunded fears and resentments of the past. Is time to embrace technology once more and reclaim our place in this planet.
